My current practice has developed as a result of moving to the East coast of England. it started with a series of "Postcards" that I sent to those I love and left.
The large scale postcard prints are based on hand tinted vintage postcards and are produced by a combination of screen print, mono print and water colour. The screen printed image is developed from a manipulated photograph, pixilated to imitate early print methods. I use paint and/or mono print to create the colour tint. Every piece is unique and each image is part of a group of up to ten or 50. If a print fails no other is made to replace it, the series is simply reduced. This series of work has taken me to London, Belfast, Norfolk, Brighton, Bristol, Michigan, Illinois, Lowestoft, Suffolk, and to places without maps.
